EBC Brakes UPR729 UPR Series/D series Premium OE Replacement Rotor Review

The two front rotors came well-packaged in heavy cardboard boxes (one rotor was wrapped in plastic, the other not). No rust, since they had the usual "remove before use" waxy/oily coating. I didn't check them with a dial gauge after installation, but they run smoother than the 85k old Brembo rotors that were on the car, and the Brembos had 0.001" and 0.0015" lateral runout (spec runout limit on the car is 0.003", but they were worn down to minimum thickness).
My only complaints about the EBC rotors are that one had a couple of small dings on the inner radius of the inboard surface - from the appearance of the dings, it looked like another rotor had been dropped on it after machining. The second rotor had something I haven't seen in any the dozen pairs of rotors I've replaced over the years - a semicircular grind in the outer edge. I guess it's part of the "high speed balancing" EBC refers to. The cut is about 0.7" in the thickness direction of the rotor, and the front rotor minimum thickness wear limit for the car is specified as 0.87", so I guess it's OK, but any removal of material at the outer edge of a front rotor like that makes me a little uncomfortable - thinking about thermal stress or corrosion. I've posted photos of the dings and the cut so you can see what I mean.
