I used this for a Chevy 350 whith some heavy duty valve springs (1.53" OD, 140 LBS seat pressure) and it worked just great, it also worked on stock 1.25" valve springs. This was on camel hump heads. This will definitely do the job on old V8 engines. I agree with the other poster, it's strange the threads slide through a hole like they do... I'd imagine over the years those threads would get worn out by rubbing against metal like that, but overall, I'm pleased with this and it's heavy duty, seems like it will last. Made in USA!
