This filter is the same as the NAPA 4003 as far as I can tell. The endcaps look like cast metal and the cylinder looks like a rolled tube that is threaded. This thing is built like a tank. Each end is threaded with 3/4" NPT threads not 1" x 14. The 1" x 14 treads will fit but do not compress and start out loose. You could force the 1" x 14 to fit and ever maybe seal in a onetime use but they would not center up and if attached and reattached many times would surely ruin the threads. These filters are like the ones on gas pumps before the filler nozzle. The filter appears to be spring loaded to stop hydraulics hammer but I not going to take apart to check. i will buy anothet when I need one.
