If you need to drill a hole in the middle of a 48" round table this tool will be adequate to do the job. Of all the jigs like this one this is probably the best available. But that's not saying a lot. The plastic base plate just doesn't have enough rigidity for accurate results. Aligning to a mark for a perpendicular hole is straight forward. Angled holes are a different story. For holes that have a more extreme angle you need to aware that you'll have a tough time hitting the spot you have marked. They'll be in the ballpark but that's it. Try starting with a small drill bit and work up through the sizes. If the base plate were a little bigger you could probably figure out a way to clamp it to the workpiece. The other problem is that there is no place to store the included hex wrench so use your imagination as to where that's likely end up. I drilled a small hole in the base in an attempt to keep it with the jig. I expect that one of these days it will come up missing anyway. I hate it when tools grow legs and walk away never to be seen again...
