After reviewing several brands of brake rotors, the Raybestos received good reviews, plus Raybestos has been around a long time with quality products. So I bought a set of four for my Expedition to replace the original rotors as at least one was warped and causing the brakes to grab during low speed stops. It was not bad, but I just did not like the grabbing when stopping. Rotors can be turned of course, but if warped out of shape due to over heating or just age, It may be cheaper to just replace them, if you do the work your self. Which I did. Plus it is not uncommon to have rotors turned only to have the same problem return, now you are out the money for the turning, plus buying new rotors anyway.

When replacing rotors on these newer cars, the runout must be checked and corrected if needed. A dial indicator must be used and the runout be no more than.002 inch. I was able to rotate the rotors one hole at a time and obtain a .001 left side, .002 right side runout with out using rotor correction shims. A clean surface on both the hub and rotor is required.
Also be sure to mark the stud and rotor with white paint so if the rotor is removed, you can put it back in the same position. The result was that my brakes work just fine now.

The Raybestos rotors are thicker than many of the cheaper replacement rotors, so they are less prone to cracking and warping. If you are going to spend money on new rotors anyway, might as well get the better replacement. The only down side to the Raybestos rotors, and it not really a down side I guess, but I kind of wish I just opened the box without looking at it first, Yep, made in China, but I think everything is made in China now. Anyway, my brakes work just fine now.
