I have a 2000 BMW 540i and after "upgrading" to performance brake rotors, began experiencing the most annoying "shake-n-brake" when hard braking downhill or on flat surfaces. Before the "upgrade", everything was perfectly smooth so I could only imagine the new "performance" rotors were causing the issue. Deciding that I had to "bite the bullet" since I was preparing to drive 3500 miles, I began searching for a rotor that matched the BMW OE performance and found the prices to be quite high UNTIL I found these Bosch QuietCast rotors. Not only did the price matter to me (not a cheapskate but I am budget conscious), the performance of the rotor was a highly important point to me as well (DOH). I can say with complete confidence that these rotors perform flawlessly after returning from my trip to The Grand Tetons NP, Yellowstone NP and Glacier NP (yes, ALL of them). Braking was smooth and consistent with not even a hint of vibration so based on my real world experience, these rotors performed like BMW OE, saved money and have successfully solved my "shake-n-brake" issues, which makes them a fantastic value.
