Moog CC623 Variable Rate Coil Spring Review

I've bought 4 sets of CC623 for various GM full size wagons over the past 4 years. They are much better than the stock OEM springs on GM B-body cars. The ride is better, and they maintain height better under various load and towing conditions.

Installation was easier than I originally thought. I use 2 jacks, one for the body and one for the rear axle. I do one side at a time, disconnecting the lower shock bolt. It's wise to disconnect the brake line clamp located on top of the differential housing before you lower the axle. This minimizes tension on the rubber flex line for the rear brakes (be sure to reconnect it when you're all done).

These springs come with instructions for orienting them on the axle. You will need 2 rubber isolator doughnuts for each spring, (top and bottom). The isolators come in a 2-pack, Moog k6203-2, so you will need a pack for each side.

These springs raise the rear end about 1-1/2 inches, which is slightly more than the amount that the old springs had given up over the years (95-96 Buick wagons). I've also used these on a 1978 Olds wagon and a 1993 Caprice wagon, both with heavy hitch receivers. They work great! Gabriel 49152 Hijackers Air Shocks - 2 Pack
