I wanted a less restricted intake but did not want the increased noise that most of the free flow air cleaner designs deliver. This worked well with the factory air box. I did add another intake port (hole) like the newer style to take advantage of the increased flow. Of course, the added benefit of not having to replace the element periodically is nice. The price was the best I could for this early model fuel injection system. (1999 twin cam FLHTC)
