Not really intended for someone my weight (280lbs), but it still holds me just fine. It is very light weight and easy to use when hiking. I quit using a tent during summer/fall hikes and started using this full time in stead. I recommend not getting it too dirty as it will cause it to wear out over time. I also recommend getting a bug net to cover you and some heavy duty rope to make it a bit more usable in wilderness areas where trees are not always so neatly arranged.
