So my husband and I are both car nuts and after years of modding my Lexus, we finally decided to show some love to our 4Runner. I was a little hesitant to do any kind of "perfomance" mods tho since it's only a 3.4L & I have seen (heard) my share of awful exhausts on V6s. We went with an Injen intake (awesome, by the way!) and added on this muffler (note: I originally purchased a Bosal tail pipe to go with this, part 467-449, but it was cheaper to just go to AutoZone, get the pipe cut and attach it all with clamps). Like I said in the headline, I was definately concerned about the noise since all I remember from Cherry Bombs was how obnoxiously loud they were. :p But I was pleasantly surprised. It *is* louder than I expected, but only when you get on it. At idle, it's a barely noticable rumble. Under normal driving, it gives it a nice throaty *aaaaaalmost-like-a-V8* sound. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend this setup to anyone looking to beef up their 4Runner.
