It is definitely something that will keep your stuff from walking or flying away while inside the CARPod. The lid is sturdy and made of the same material as the CARPod.

My sole complaint is the space provided to apply a lock. You need a lock with a thin, long shackle. The standard sized Master locks will work, even the water proof ones. But no matter what you buy it will be difficult to apply the lock in all three spots.

I put this part in about 2 weeks ago. The thin metal pipe section that is covered in cloth-like material had a large crack & air was leaking out. I got the EGR gasket from the dealer & I was ready to install. It wasn't too much fun changing this part out, but it stopped the noise under the hood & helped with performance. I had 170,000 miles on the car.

I bought this to file some of my steel piston rings. It did a great job and I would buy it again, just be sure to go SLOW! Do not rush through it and the accuracy in your work will show it, even just one turn can pull off a thou. The reason I only gave it 4 stars, is I wish there was another mounting bracket on the other side as this had a tendency to spin if it's not super tight. Great for the price, and I would recommend it
